New Intern Alert: Meet Lauren and Jackie!

Hello! We are Lauren and Jackie, Bleu’s newest Marketing and Client Services Interns, respectively. Below are some questions and answers that will help you get to know us. Enjoy! Where are you from, where do you go to school, and what do you study? Lauren: I was born and raised in San Francisco, and am proud to call myself a San Francisco native! I am a rising junior at Chapman University in Orange, CA where I major in Creative Writing and minor in Public Relations. Jackie: I am originally from Alameda, California, but have spent the past year living in San Francisco! I am studying psychology at the University of San Francisco and will be a senior this upcoming fall. What drew you to Bleu? L: Honestly, the job description posted was what initially attracted me. It was quirky and to the point, which is how I am. Also, I really like that the Bleu team is relatively small and that I am able to have a voice while doing meaningful work. J: Although I am a Psychology major, I have a big interest in marketing and advertising.  Psychology is an asset here because it helps me understand what appeals to people and why. Bleu offers a great opportunity for me to further understand what goes on in the marketing and advertising world. And lastly, Bleu has a small, family feel, but that doesn’t stop the company from producing big ideas. Where do your interests lie? L: I am fascinated by communication and how to customize it given different situations, clients, etc. There is a vast amount of creativity one can employ in marketing and PR while still getting a certain point across to your audience; I love that. I also really enjoy writing and have found, at Bleu, that I also enjoy copy writing and content creation. J: My interests are currently in technology and social media, which is pretty inevitable living in San Francisco. What do you hope to accomplish here at Bleu? L: I want to learn. It’s one thing learning about PR, social media, and marketing at school, but it’s a totally different thing applying that knowledge to the real world. Here, I am able to explore these fields and how I can utilize them to the best of my ability to contribute to the team. J: Through my internship at Bleu, I hope to obtain a better understanding of where I’d like to work within marketing and advertising, as well as how to apply everything I’m learning into the workforce. I’m hoping that this internship will help me become smarter and faster . What do you like to do in your free time? L: I am a firm believer in the notion that it’s not where you are that matters; it’s who you’re with. So – I’m always with family and friends, and most of the time – we’re just laughing and doing nothing. I also love fitness, specifically the Bar Method, which just so happens to be a couple of blocks down from Bleu…how convenient! And, of course, my puppy, Teddy, holds a special place in my heart. J: When I’m not interning or going to school, you can usually find me at a San Francisco Giants game, spending time with my friends, family, and dog,  Mochi, or exploring the city. I am also currently attempting to learn Japanese!
