5 Must-Read Blogs to Give You an Edge!

Interns do a lot of learning in the workplace, but we know that a ton of great information can also be found on the web. From resume tips and career advice to industry insight and news, we’ve rounded up five of our favorite blogs. 1. The Savvy Intern youtern.com/thesavvyintern As you might guess, The Savvy Intern features advice on how to get more out of your internship. With articles such as “Tips to Own the On-Campus Job Fair” and “5 Ways to Write a Resume with Immediate Impact,” this blog is ideal for both interns and entry-level employees. The Savvy Intern has been named one of the top five online communities for starting your career by Mashable, and Forbes has included it in their “Top 75 Websites for Your Career” list. 2. Ask a Manager askamanager.org Ask a Manager has fantastic workplace advice, featuring tips on everything from dealing with pesky coffee runs and health insurance to second interviews and working remotely. Its large community of readers is very active, so even more helpful insights can be found in the comments. Not strictly for interns, there’s value here for everyone. 3. Good Copy, Bad Copy goodcopybadcopy.co.uk Good Copy, Bad Copy takes a humorous look at all the good and bad writing floating around in the world. Yes, the poking fun at confusing HR-speak and perplexing corporate messaging make this blog fun, but there are also great tips on writing effective, simple copy. 4. PR in Your Pajamas prinyourpajamas.com PR in Your Pajamas features fantastic advice for marketers, entrepreneurs, small businesses, and non-profits. Started by a woman with two decades of experience—and who really does work from home in her pajamas—the blog has earned a number of industry awards and been featured on PR Web’s “25 Essential PR Blogs You Should Be Reading.” 5. Ann Handley annhandley.com/blog If you, like us, are immersed in the world of marketing, Ann Handley is a must read. Pretty impressive.
